Lex Racing Adjustable Levers

January 19th, 2010 -- by Alex -- Posted in Motorcycle | No Comments »

What’s up everyone? These levers have been five years in the making. We were second after CRG to come up with the concept but with Pazzo coming out with mass produced multi colored levers right after them, we decided to hold off and come up with a better product.

As you can see above, the first Lex Racing Levers were grooved at the front to conform to a rider’s fingers. We didn’t think this would be enough to kill the competition, so we went back to the drawing board. What we came up with, you can see below.

Now, the Lex Racing Lever is fully adjustable to fit all hands (unless you are a giant, or a baby). The clicker controls a roller cam assembly, giving riders the ability to manipulate lever position even while riding. Brake fade and clutch adjustments can be tuned as well.

Like our competition, they are of 6061-T6 CNC machined aluminum construction. However, not only do they have six clicks of adjustability, and the folding featured, they can be lengthened and shortened with ease.

We have definitely come a long way from the design above.

    Automobile Insurance

January 14th, 2010 -- by Alex -- Posted in Automobile, Motorcycle | No Comments »

Hey guys, I am going shy away from writing about Remus exhausts and talk about a problem we as drivers have been facing. 2009 was a bad year for many of us in the automobile industry. With record low sales, repossessions, and record bankruptcy filings, buying new vehicles was the last thing on everyone’s mind.

Let’s do a quick recap of 2009, to prove my point. 2009 saw the birth and death of the disastrous Cash for Clunkers fiasco. Yes, dealers were able to move a few new models in the beginning, only to have the irresponsible default again on the new loans. Motorcycle sales were so poor that many Japanese manufacturers decided not to import 2010 models because the 2009 models were still sitting on showroom floors!

So, this brings me to my concern. What happens to auto insurance companies when no one is buying any new vehicles? Sure, people still have to insure their old cars, but with the economy the way it is, they probably stick with liability coverage only. With less new auto loan companies requiring full coverage, the insurance companies are making less money.

Enter discount auto insurance offered by online companies. By moving business online, companies cut out many costs associated with traditional offices. No office rent means less supply costs. No office equals less employees to pay. Employees working from home will use their own computers. Etc. etc.

But with so many of these discount auto insurance boutiques opening up, the quality of service tends to take a downward spiral. No more one-on-one face time with your insurance adjuster, because time is money, and they have many other clients. And with profits being razor thin, companies tend to watch out only for themselves, which in turn hurts the customer.

My point, and advice? Stick with the larger, more established auto insurance companies, if you can afford it. When and if you should be in an accident, it will pay off. However, if like the rest of the millions of other Americans, you are strapped for cash, and are a relatively safe driver, then by all means, try one of the discount auto insurance companies online.

If nothing else, they usually have great websites that are chock full of free information. Most of these discount auto insurance websites have different pages on how to apply for discounts, what to do if you need to file a claim, etc, etc.

      Remus HexaCone for Streetfighter

December 21st, 2009 -- by Alex -- Posted in Ducati, Motorcycle | No Comments »

What’s up guys? Just wanted to show you the new Remus exhaust for the Ducati Streetfighter. It actually comes in two versions.

The first is the dual outlet slip on available in both stainless steel and titanium. The dyno graph is shown below.

      sf2d

The second version is what I think is the cooler one. It’s the HexaCone, High Performance Race System with a stainless steel header (2-1), conical tubes and Titan Race muffler. There is also a titanium racing version as well.

Here is the dyno graph below.

The 24-month warranty on all EEC approved systems, and 12-month warranty on racing systems is also in effect.

              Remus Quad Video Clip

July 10th, 2009 -- by Alex -- Posted in Automobile, BMW | No Comments »

Hey guys, here it is as promised. This is a quick video clip of how the new exhausts sound on the 335i. As you can see, the cut on the bumper is a bit rough, but nothing a new lip or kit wouldn’t hide. Check it out!

It’s starting to get deeper in the cabin, but nothing too extreme. The stock exhaust sound was great already but now it sounds like it’s going to hunt and eat M3s for lunch!

                Remus Quad Exhausts

June 28th, 2009 -- by Alex -- Posted in Automobile, BMW | No Comments »

What’s going on guys? It’s been a while since we made a modification on the 335i. So, today, we installed a quad exhaust from Remus. Check it out.

                Photobucket

Installation was a bit more complicated than most. The reason being the cutting of the rear bumper to accommodate the extra pair of exhaust tips. Since the 335i is bound to be modded some more, we used a simple saw-saw to cut the bumper. We then smoothed out the edges with a heavy duty file. Not too shabby right?

Stay tuned for a video sound clip!

                  Cannondale F700

May 6th, 2009 -- by Alex -- Posted in Bicycle, Cannondale | No Comments »

What’s going on guys? Like I said before, we here at Lex Racing ride, race, and modify anything on wheels. With the world economy the way it is, we have shifted our attention to mountain bikes, or all terrain bikes, as they are sometimes called.

What you see here is my current project. It’s a 2000 Cannondale F700, which retailed for $1275. The current upgrades includes a Serfas cutout seat, a Cateye computer, SPD pedals, Race Face chain rings, aluminum chain ring bolts, and Ringle Titanium skewers. The specs include: Small size frame, Matte Black finish, Shimano XT front and rear derailleurs, and Shimano LX rapidfire shifters.

The bike also has a Magura front disc brake and a Fatty DL Headshok! The rear is set up for a disc brake should I want to add it later on It’s really a great, higher end mountain bike!

                  Photobucket

Okay guys. Stay tuned for more!

What’s up guys? Here is a quick picture of Frank installing the Remus Exhaust system on my M Roadster. You can see the difference immediately between the stock system and the Remus.

The weight savings are incredible. I would guess 25 pounds lighter, each side!

                    BMW

Alright guys, stay tuned for video clips of the new system! Be sure to check out our online store up top!
